Lemony Spaghetti with Capers & Herbed Breadcrumbs recipe


This pasta dish is full of flavor with a tangy twist. Spaghetti is mixed with capers, garlic, and a zesty lemon sauce. Crunchy herbed breadcrumbs add a tasty topping. It's a yummy dinner that's ready in 30 minutes!


400 g Spaghetti
4 Cloves of Garlic
1 Tsp Red Pepper Flakes
2 Tbsp Capers
100 g Panko Breadcrumbs
1 Bunch of Basil
1 Lemon
5 Tbsp Olive Oil
Salt to taste
50 g Grated Parmesan Cheese


Start by boiling a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti until it is al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
While the pasta is cooking, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Peel and mince the garlic, then add it to the pan with the red pepper flakes and capers. Cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
In a separate pan, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the panko breadcrumbs and cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in finely chopped basil leaves.
Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
Add the drained spaghetti to the pan with the garlic, capers, and red pepper flakes. Grate the zest of the lemon and squeeze its juice into the pan. Toss everything together, adding the reserved pasta water a little at a time to create a glossy sauce.
Serve the spaghetti on plates, top with the herbed breadcrumbs and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese. Enjoy your meal!
