Ingredients: 4 chicken thighs; 1 tablespoon honey; 2 tablespoons soy sauce; 4 cloves garlic, minced; 1 teaspoon dried thyme; 1 tablespoon olive oil; 1 bunch kale, stems removed and leaves torn; 1 ripe pear, cored and sliced; 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped; 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar; Salt and pepper to taste; 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

This is a yummy chicken meal with a sweet and garlicky flavor. It comes with a fresh salad made of kale, pear, and crunchy walnuts. You cook the chicken in the oven and mix the salad in a bowl. It's a good dinner for your family.

Ingredients

4 chicken thighs

1 tablespoon honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 bunch kale, stems removed and leaves torn

1 ripe pear, cored and sliced

1/4 cup walnuts, chopped

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Method

Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Use a paper towel to lightly coat a baking dish with olive oil.

Place chicken thighs in the baking dish and bake for 10 minutes.

While the chicken is baking, in a small bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, half of the minced garlic, and dried thyme to create the sauce.

In another bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, the remaining garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to make the dressing for the salad.

Take the chicken out of the oven, pour the honey garlic sauce over the thighs, and turn to coat. Put the chicken back in the oven and bake until fully cooked, about 20-25 minutes more.

While the chicken finishes cooking, place the torn kale in a large bowl, add the sliced pear and chopped walnuts, and toss with the dressing.

Serve the baked chicken thighs hot with the kale, pear, and walnut salad on the side.
