Creamy Tomato Basil Spaghetti recipe


This is a yummy pasta with a creamy tomato sauce and fresh basil. You cook spaghetti and mix it with a special sauce made from tomatoes, garlic, and cream. Then you sprinkle cheese and basil on top.


4 cloves of garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil
400 g spaghetti
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
240 ml heavy cream
30 g grated Parmesan cheese
15 g fresh basil leaves
Salt to taste
Water for boiling pasta


Fill a large pot with water, add a pinch of salt, and bring to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente.
While the pasta is cooking, mince the garlic. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the garlic until golden, about 2 minutes.
Stir in the tomato paste, red pepper flakes, sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
Lower the heat and slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring until the sauce is well combined and starts to simmer.
Drain the spaghetti, reserving 1/4 cup of the pasta water. Add the spaghetti and the reserved water to the sauce in the pan, tossing to coat the pasta.
Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the pasta, reserving some for garnish. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and toss everything together until the cheese melts into the sauce.
Taste and adjust the seasoning with more salt if needed.
Serve the creamy tomato basil spaghetti hot, garnished with the remaining basil leaves and extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
