Beef & Cabbage Stir-Fry with Carrots recipe

This is a yummy dish with beef and cabbage. It has carrots and a special sauce. You cook the beef, then add the veggies. Mix it all with the sauce and it's ready to eat. It's good for dinner and not too hard to make.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound lean ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon grated ginger
1 large red onion, thinly sliced
4 cups shredded napa cabbage
2 medium carrots, julienned
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup water

Method

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the ground beef, season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a bowl.

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Add the garlic, ginger, and sliced onion. Cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.

Add the shredded cabbage and julienned carrots to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, sriracha sauce, and the remaining salt and pepper.

In another small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in water to make a slurry.

Return the beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the sauce mixture and cornstarch slurry over the beef and vegetables. Stir well to combine.

Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened.

Serve the beef and cabbage stir-fry hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
