This is a yummy bread that you can make at home. It's soft and has a little sweet taste from honey. You mix the ingredients and bake it in the oven. It's great for sandwiches or with butter!

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups warm water (110 - 120°F)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Method

In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in the warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Add the honey, melted butter, vegetable oil, salt, and 3 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until the dough starts to form.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead, gradually adding the remaining 1/2 cup of flour until the dough is smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to coat the top. Cover with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan. Cover and let it rise again until doubled, about 30-40 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
