Spicy Honey-Lime Chicken Tenders recipe

This is a yummy chicken dish with a sweet and spicy flavor. We use chicken strips, coat them in breadcrumbs, and fry them until they're crispy. Then we top them with a tasty honey-lime sauce. It's a fun meal for dinner!

Ingredients

2 Chicken Breasts
60 g Panko Breadcrumbs
2 Large Eggs
40 g All-Purpose Flour
Vegetable Oil, for frying
1 Red Apple
1 Carrot
2 Tbsp Greek Yogurt
1 Tsp Dijon Mustard
1 Lime
50 g Unsalted Butter
2 Tbsp Honey
1 Tbsp Hot Sauce
Salt and Pepper, to taste

Method

Cut the chicken breasts into strips, about 2 cm wide. Season with salt and pepper.

Place the panko breadcrumbs in a shallow dish. In another dish, beat the eggs. In a third dish, place the flour seasoned with salt and pepper.

Dip the chicken strips in the flour, then the beaten eggs, and finally coat them with the panko breadcrumbs.

Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken strips for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

For the slaw, peel and grate the carrot and core and julienne the red apple. In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt and Dijon mustard with the juice of half a lime. Add the apple and carrot, season with salt and pepper, and toss to coat. Set aside in the refrigerator.

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the honey, hot sauce, and juice of the remaining half lime. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Arrange the crispy chicken strips on a plate, drizzle with the spicy honey-lime sauce, and serve with the refreshing apple-carrot slaw on the side.
