Spicy Honey Drizzled Tofu Nuggets recipe

This recipe turns tofu into crispy nuggets with a spicy honey sauce. You coat tofu in a seasoned flour mix, then fry until golden. Drizzle with spicy honey for a sweet and spicy treat.

Ingredients

400 g firm tofu
3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1/2 Tsp paprika
1/4 Tsp cayenne pepper
1 Tsp garlic powder
1/4 Tsp ground cumin
1/2 Tsp onion powder
1/2 Tsp salt
1/2 Tsp black pepper
6 Tbsp almond milk
40 g panko breadcrumbs
4 Tbsp vegetable oil
4 Tbsp honey
1/2 Tsp red pepper flakes
1 small fresh red chili, finely chopped
1 Tbsp lemon juice

Method

Press the tofu for 20 minutes to remove excess water. Cut into 20 cubes.

In a bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, ground cumin, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Pour almond milk into a separate bowl, and place panko breadcrumbs in another bowl.

Dip each tofu cube into the almond milk, then coat with the flour mixture, dip again into the almond milk, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.

Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Fry the tofu nuggets for a few minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

For the spicy honey, wipe down the pan and add the chopped chili and red pepper flakes. Cook on low heat for 1 minute. Add the honey and lemon juice, mix well, and cook for another 3 minutes to infuse the flavors.

Serve the tofu nuggets with the spicy honey drizzled on top or on the side for dipping.
