Spicy Chicken Skewers with Yogurt Sauce Recipe

This recipe is for spicy chicken skewers with a cool yogurt sauce. You mix chicken with spices, put it on sticks, and cook it. Then you make a sauce with yogurt and herbs. It's yummy with bread and easy to make!

Ingredients

500 g Chicken breast, cut into cubes
1 Red Pepper, cut into chunks
1 Yellow Pepper, cut into chunks
1 Onion, cut into chunks
1 Bunch of Cilantro
30 g Almonds, chopped
1/2 tsp Paprika
1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
1/2 tsp Ground Coriander
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
2 Tbsps Olive Oil
200 g Greek Yogurt
2 Cloves of Garlic, minced
4 Pita Breads
Salt to taste

Method

Preheat your oven to 200°C/392°F.

In a bowl, combine the chicken cubes with the paprika, cumin, coriander, turmeric, lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until the chicken is evenly coated with the spices.

Cut the red and yellow peppers and onion into chunks that will fit on skewers.

Thread the marinated chicken, pepper chunks, and onion chunks onto skewers, alternating between them.

Place the skewers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and drizzle with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the vegetables are tender.

While the skewers are cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing the Greek yogurt with the minced garlic, chopped almonds, and a pinch of salt. Chop some cilantro and stir it into the sauce.

Grill the pita breads on a pan or in the oven until they are warm and slightly crispy.

Serve the hot chicken skewers with the cool yogurt sauce and warm pita breads on the side.
