Spicy Black Bean Burger with Chipotle Mayo & Avocado recipe


This is a yummy black bean burger with a spicy twist. It has a special sauce made with chipotle and mayo. It's put on a bun with avocado and cheese. It's easy to make and very tasty!


4 black bean burger patties
4 whole wheat buns
1 ripe avocado, sliced
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, finely chopped
1 tablespoon lime juice
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
2 cups arugula
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste


Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
Cook the black bean burger patties for about 5 minutes on each side or until they are heated through and have a nice crust.
While the patties cook, mix the mayonnaise, chipotle peppers, lime juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika in a small bowl to make the chipotle mayo.
Toast the whole wheat buns if desired.
Place the cooked patties on the bottom halves of the buns, and sprinkle each with shredded cheddar cheese. Allow the cheese to melt slightly on the warm patties.
Spread a generous amount of chipotle mayo on the top halves of the buns.
Add sliced avocado on top of the cheese-covered patties.
Toss the arugula with a pinch of salt and pepper, and place a small handful on top of the avocado.
Close the burgers with the top halves of the buns and serve immediately.
