Spicy Beef Sausage Rolls recipe


This is a yummy snack made with spicy beef and cheese wrapped in flaky pastry. You mix beef with spices and cheese, wrap it in pastry, and bake until golden. It's a warm, tasty treat!


2 Yellow Onions
1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro
500 g Ground Beef
100 g Cheddar Cheese, grated
2 Tbsp Chipotle Paste
1 Tsp Smoked Paprika
2 Eggs
1 Sheet Ready Rolled Puff Pastry
1 Tsp Poppy Seeds


Preheat your oven to 190°C/374°F.
Peel and finely slice the yellow onions. Roughly chop the cilantro.
In a pan over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil and cook the onions for 20 minutes until soft and golden. Let them cool.
In a bowl, mix the ground beef, grated cheddar cheese, cooled onions, cilantro, chipotle paste, smoked paprika, one egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper until well combined.
Beat the remaining egg in a small bowl for the egg wash.
Unroll the puff pastry sheet and form the beef mixture into a sausage shape along the length of the pastry.
Brush one edge of the pastry with the egg wash, fold the other edge over the filling, and roll it to create a tight roll with a sealed edge.
Brush the top of the roll with egg wash and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
Chill in the fridge for 15 minutes.
Cut the roll into 12 equal segments and place them on baking sheets, spaced apart.
Bake for 25 minutes or until the pastry is a deep golden brown and flaky.
Serve the sausage rolls hot or at room temperature.
