This is a yummy burger made with turkey and spices. It has a special slaw with cabbage, carrots, and a sweet dressing. You put the burger on a bun and add the slaw on top. It's fun to make and eat!

Ingredients

4 whole wheat hamburger buns
1/2 lb ground turkey
4 slices turkey bacon
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp ground coriander
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1/2 head of green cabbage
1 large carrot
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp white wine vinegar
1/4 cup mixed greens
1/2 medium red onion
1 tbsp cooking oil

Method

1
Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
2
In a medium bowl, mix together the ground turkey, finely chopped turkey bacon, smoked paprika, onion powder, ground coriander, and black pepper. Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
3
Add cooking oil to the skillet and cook the patties for about 7-8 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and browned.
4
While the patties cook, make the slaw. Thinly slice the green cabbage and grate the carrot. In a large bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, olive oil, and white wine vinegar. Add the cabbage and carrot to the bowl and toss to coat with the dressing.
5
Toast the whole wheat hamburger buns lightly, if desired.
6
Thinly slice the red onion.
7
To assemble the burgers, place a patty on the bottom half of each bun. Add a layer of mixed greens and a generous amount of the honey mustard slaw. Top with a few slices of red onion and the top half of the bun.
8
Serve the spiced turkey burgers immediately with any extra slaw on the side.
