Spiced Turkey Burgers with Avocado Cream recipe


This is a yummy burger made with ground turkey and spices. It has a special sauce made from avocado and yogurt. You put the meat on a bun with lettuce and the sauce. It's a tasty meal for lunch or dinner.


500 g Ground Turkey
1 Tsp Ground Cumin
2 Tsp Garam Masala
1 Garlic Clove
1 Ripe Avocado
150 g Greek Yoghurt
1 Tbsp Lime Juice
4 Whole Wheat Buns
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
4 Lettuce Leaves


In a bowl, mix together the ground turkey, ground cumin, garam masala, minced garlic clove, 1 tbsp olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Form into 4 equal-sized patties and set aside.
In another bowl, mash the ripe avocado with a fork until smooth. Stir in the Greek yoghurt and lime juice, and season with salt and pepper to taste. This will be your avocado cream.
Heat a grill pan or non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the turkey patties and cook for about 7-8 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and browned on the outside.
While the patties are cooking, split the whole wheat buns and toast them lightly on the pan or in a toaster.
To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, add a cooked turkey patty on top, and then spread a generous amount of avocado cream on the patty. Top with the other half of the bun.
Serve the spiced turkey burgers immediately, with extra avocado cream on the side if desired.
