Orange Ginger Chicken recipe

This is a yummy chicken dish with a twist of orange and ginger. We use chicken, orange juice, and spices to make it. It's cooked until it's crispy and covered in a sweet and tangy sauce. It's good with rice.

Ingredients

500 g Chicken Thighs, boneless and skinless
2 Eggs, whites only
1 Tsp Black Pepper Powder
2 Oranges
2 Tbsp Honey
3 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
1 Red Bell Pepper
2 Cloves Of Garlic
4 cm Knob Of Ginger
350 ml Chicken Stock
180 g Plain Flour
1 Tbsp Cornflour
1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
Vegetable oil for frying

Method

Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and marinate with the juice of one orange, 1 tsp black pepper powder, 1 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp oyster sauce, and egg whites for 30 minutes.

In a bowl, mix 180 g of plain flour with the marinated chicken until well coated.

Heat vegetable oil in a pan to deep fry the chicken.

Deep fry the chicken pieces in batches for 4-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Drain on a paper towel.

In a small cup, mix the cornflour with 2 tbsp of water to create a slurry.

In a wok, stir fry minced garlic, ginger, and diced red bell pepper for 2 minutes until fragrant.

Add 350 ml chicken stock, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, and 1 tbsp honey to the wok and bring to a simmer.

Stir in the cornflour slurry and cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Toss the fried chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.

Serve the chicken garnished with toasted sesame seeds and slices of the remaining orange.
