Italian Sausage and Spinach Lasagna recipe


This is a yummy lasagna with Italian sausage and spinach. You cook sausage and mix it with spinach and sauce. Then you layer it with cheese and pasta. Bake it to make it all melty and good.


2 medium onions, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon dried oregano
500 g ground Italian sausage
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
300 g fresh spinach
400 ml vegetable broth
60 g grated pecorino cheese
300 g dried lasagna noodles
200 ml heavy cream
200 g shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons olive oil


Preheat your oven to 210°C (410°F).
In an oven-proof sauté pan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground Italian sausage and cook for about 5 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan, add the chopped onions and cook for 10 minutes until softened. Stir in the minced garlic, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes, and cook for another 2 minutes.
Add the fresh spinach to the pan along with the vegetable broth. Cook for 5 minutes until the spinach is wilted and the liquid has reduced slightly.
Return the cooked sausage to the pan with the spinach mixture. Stir well to combine and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Layer half of the dried lasagna noodles over the sausage and spinach mixture in the pan.
Pour half of the heavy cream over the noodles, then sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Repeat the layering with the remaining noodles, cream, and mozzarella cheese.
Grate the pecorino cheese and nutmeg over the top layer of mozzarella.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
