Homemade Coffee Liqueur Recipe

This is a sweet, coffee-flavored drink you can make at home. It's like a special coffee treat for grown-ups. You mix coffee, sugar, and a special grown-up drink called rum. Then you wait a little, and it's ready to enjoy!

Ingredients

1 Cinnamon Stick
100 ml Dark Rum
150 ml Freshly Ground Coffee
250 g Brown Sugar
250 ml Water
2 tbsp Vanilla Extract

Method

Place the cinnamon stick into the bottle of dark rum and let it infuse overnight in a cool, dark place.

Combine the freshly ground coffee with the infused rum in a large jar and store in the refrigerator for about 6 hours to cold brew.

After brewing, strain the coffee mixture through a coffee filter into a clean jug to remove the coffee grounds.

In a saucepan, combine the water and brown sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved to create a syrup.

Remove the syrup from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.

Mix the cooled syrup with the coffee-infused rum, add the vanilla extract, and stir well.

Pour the mixture back into the bottle or a suitable container and let it sit for at least 24 hours to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve your homemade coffee liqueur over ice, or use it to make cocktails. Shake well before serving.
