This is a yummy pasta dish baked with cheese and tomato sauce. It's like a big, warm hug in a dish! You mix pasta, sauce, and cheese, then bake it until it's bubbly. It's great for dinner with your family or friends.

Ingredients

450 grams of penne pasta
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
500 grams ground beef
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
800 grams canned crushed tomatoes
200 grams ricotta cheese
150 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
50 grams grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Method

1
Preheat your oven to 190 degrees Celsius (375 degrees Fahrenheit).
2
Cook the penne pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water for 2 minutes less than the package instructions for al dente. Drain and set aside.
3
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is soft, about 5 minutes.
4
Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until it's browned and cooked through.
5
Stir in the dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute.
6
Pour in the crushed tomatoes and bring the mixture to a simmer. Season with salt and pepper. Let it cook for about 10 minutes.
7
In a large bowl, mix the cooked pasta with the tomato and beef sauce. Then, add the ricotta cheese and mix well.
8
Transfer half of the pasta mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella over the pasta.
9
Add the remaining pasta mixture on top and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and the grated Parmesan cheese.
10
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
11
Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
