Crispy Mixed Grain Patties recipe


This recipe turns your leftover grains and lentils into delicious crispy patties. Mix them with spices, fry until golden, and serve with a tangy yogurt sauce. It's a fun way to use leftovers!


1 medium Red Onion, finely diced
1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro, chopped
1 Green Chili, finely chopped
120 g Chickpea Flour
120 g Leftover Dal
120 g Leftover Cooked Quinoa
3 Large Eggs
2 Tbsp Greek Yogurt
2 Tbsp Tamarind Sauce
Salt to taste
2 Tbsp Olive Oil for frying


In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely diced red onion, chopped cilantro, and green chili.
Add the chickpea flour, leftover dal, and cooked quinoa to the bowl. Season with salt to taste.
Crack the eggs into the mixture and stir until all ingredients are well combined and a thick batter forms.
Heat olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
Scoop a heaping tablespoon of the batter into the pan, flattening it slightly to form a patty. Cook for about 2 minutes on each side or until the patties are golden brown and crispy.
In a small bowl, mix the Greek yogurt and tamarind sauce to create a tangy dipping sauce.
Serve the hot patties with the yogurt-tamarind sauce on the side for dipping.
