Crispy Chili Lime Tofu recipe


This is a yummy tofu dish with a zesty twist. We use lime and chili to make it tangy and spicy. The tofu is crispy and goes well with rice or noodles. It's a fun meal for everyone!


560 g Firm Tofu
5 Tbsp Cornstarch
4 Spring Onions
3 Garlic Cloves
1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
1 Lime, zest and juice
1 Tsp Sugar
1 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Black Pepper
2 Red Chillies
3 Tbsp Vegetable Oil


Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes and pat dry with paper towels.
In a bowl, mix the cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Coat the tofu cubes in the cornstarch mixture.
Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and fry until golden and crispy on all sides, about 10 minutes. Remove the tofu and set aside.
Finely chop the spring onions, garlic, and red chillies. In the same pan, add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and fry the spring onions, garlic, and chilli on medium heat until soft and fragrant, about 3 minutes.
Return the crispy tofu to the pan with the spring onion mixture. Add the soy sauce, lime zest, and lime juice. Sprinkle the sugar over the tofu and stir through until fully coated and heated through.
Serve the crispy chili lime tofu hot, garnished with extra spring onion or lime wedges if desired.
