Creamy Chicken and Spinach Orzo recipe


This is a yummy pasta dish with chicken, spinach, and orzo. It's creamy and has a little cheese on top. You cook chicken and mix it with pasta, spinach, and a creamy sauce. It's good for dinner and not too hard to make.


2 tablespoons olive oil
300 g chicken breast, diced
1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
250 g fresh spinach
300 g orzo
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
150 ml dry white wine
200 ml chicken broth
120 ml heavy cream
50 g grated mozzarella cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
30 g grated Parmesan cheese for garnish


Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the diced chicken breast, sprinkle with Italian herbs, salt, and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan, add the remaining olive oil and minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the fresh spinach to the pan and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes.
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add orzo and cook until al dente, about 7 minutes. Drain and set aside.
To the pan with spinach, sprinkle smoked paprika and cook for another minute.
Pour in the white wine and chicken broth, and bring to a simmer. Let it reduce slightly, about 3 minutes.
Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Add the cooked chicken and orzo back into the pan, mixing well to combine.
Add the grated mozzarella cheese and stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
Serve the creamy chicken and spinach orzo hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
