Ingredients: 1 whole chicken (about 4 pounds); 1 cup chicken broth; 1/2 diced yellow onion; 1 tsp garlic powder; 1 tsp paprika; 1-2 tbsp all-purpose flour (to thicken gravy, optional)

This is a yummy chicken meal made in an Instant Pot. You put a whole frozen chicken in with some broth and spices. After it cooks, you can make the skin crispy in the oven. It's a warm and filling dinner for your family.

Ingredients

1 whole chicken (about 4 pounds)

1 cup chicken broth

1/2 diced yellow onion

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp paprika

1-2 tbsp all-purpose flour (to thicken gravy, optional)

Method

Pour chicken broth into your Instant Pot and add your diced onions.

Place the trivet on top of the broth and onions.

Unwrap your frozen chicken and place it breast side up on the trivet.

Drizzle some olive oil on top of the chicken and sprinkle with garlic powder and paprika.

Close the lid and set the valve to sealing. Cook on high pressure for 60 minutes.

Let the Instant Pot naturally release steam for 15 minutes, then carefully remove the chicken.

If you want crispy skin, place the chicken in an oven-safe dish, sprinkle with additional paprika, and broil for 3-4 minutes or until the skin is crispy.

For gravy, mix flour with some of the cooking liquid and heat until thickened.
