This is a yummy pasta dish with chicken, veggies, and a tasty tomato sauce. You cook spaghetti and mix it with chicken, mushrooms, and carrots. Then you add a special sauce and cheese on top. It's good for dinner and makes everyone happy!

Ingredients

450 g ground chicken
1 x (700 g) jar of tomato basil sauce
1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 x (200 g) packages of sliced cremini mushrooms
200 g shredded carrots
300 g whole wheat spaghetti
1 large yellow onion, diced
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped

Method

1
Fill a large pot with water, add a pinch of salt, and bring to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions, usually 8-10 minutes for al dente. Drain and set aside.
2
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, add the diced onion, ground chicken, sliced mushrooms, and shredded carrots. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried oregano.
3
Cook the mixture, breaking apart the chicken with a spoon, until the chicken is fully cooked and the vegetables are tender, about 8-10 minutes.
4
Pour the tomato basil sauce into the skillet with the chicken and vegetables. Stir well to combine and bring the sauce to a simmer. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
5
Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the sauce. Heat through for about 2 minutes.
6
Remove the skillet from the heat, sprinkle the fresh basil over the pasta, and give it a final stir.
7
Serve the spaghetti onto plates or into bowls, and top each serving with a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese. Enjoy your meal!
