This is a yummy dish with puffy dough and cheese. It has tomatoes, cheese, and spices. You bake it until it's golden. It's like a pizza but with little dough balls. It's good for dinner and fun to eat!

Ingredients

2 medium zucchinis, diced
1 large onion, diced
1 tsp dried oregano
1 can (800 g) crushed tomatoes
1 package (400 g) pre-made pizza dough
200 g shredded mozzarella cheese
30 g grated pecorino cheese
1 tbsp sugar
1 handful fresh spinach leaves
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper to taste

Method

1
Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F).
2
In a large pan, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent.
3
Add the diced zucchinis to the pan and cook until slightly browned.
4
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, sugar, oregano, and a pinch of salt. Let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes until it thickens.
5
While the sauce is simmering, cut the pizza dough into 1-inch pieces and roll them into balls.
6
Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each ball.
7
Sprinkle the dough balls with half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
8
Once the sauce is ready, add the fresh spinach leaves and let them wilt in the sauce.
9
Pour the tomato and spinach sauce over the dough balls on the baking sheet.
10
Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and the grated pecorino cheese.
11
Sprinkle the red pepper flakes over the top and drizzle with the remaining olive oil.
12
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the dough puffs are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
13
Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
