Cheese Biscuits recipe


These cheese biscuits are a yummy snack. They are made with flour, butter, and cheese. You mix them and bake until golden. They are good for parties or just to eat at home.


160 g all-purpose flour
100 g cold butter, chopped
120 g sharp cheddar cheese, finely grated
1 tsp fresh thyme leaves, finely chopped
1 large egg yolk
1 tbsp cold water


Preheat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. In a bowl, mix the flour and butter until it looks like breadcrumbs. Add the cheddar and thyme, then the egg yolk and water. Mix with a fork.
When the dough clumps, knead it until smooth. Roll into small balls and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Press them down a little with a fork.
Bake for 12-14 minutes until they are golden. Let them cool on the tray for a few minutes, then move them to a wire rack to cool completely. Keep them in a container for up to a week.
