This is a yummy dinner with beef patties covered in a creamy mushroom sauce. It comes with mashed potatoes that have herbs in them. You make the beef into shapes like burgers and cook them in a pan. Then you make the sauce with mushrooms and cream. The potatoes are mashed with butter and herbs.

Ingredients

20 fl oz beef broth

4 medium russet potatoes

1 lb lean ground beef

1/2 lb cremini mushrooms

1 large yellow onion

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1/4 tsp black pepper

2 tbsp unsalted butter

1/4 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup panko bread crumbs

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp dried rosemary

1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1/4 cup sour cream

1 small bunch chives

Method

Wash, peel, and cut potatoes into even chunks. Place them in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.

Meanwhile, heat a pan over medium heat.

In a bowl, mix ground beef, panko bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 equal-sized patties.

Add 1 tbsp butter to the pan and cook the patties for about 4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.

Chop the onion and slice the mushrooms.

In the same pan, add the remaining butter and cook the onion until soft, about 3 minutes.

Add the mushrooms and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and onions, stir and cook for 1 minute.

Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer. Add heavy cream and let it cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.

Return the beef patties to the pan, cover, and cook for another 5 minutes.

Chop chives and add half to the drained potatoes along with sour cream, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth.

Serve the beef patties and creamy mushroom sauce over the herb mashed potatoes, garnished with the remaining chives.
