This is a yummy dinner with beef patties covered in a creamy mushroom sauce. We use green beans instead of asparagus. It's like a hug on a plate!

Ingredients

1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 lb green beans, trimmed
8 oz white mushrooms, sliced
1 large yellow onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Method

1
In a bowl, mix together the minced garlic, ground beef, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form into four oval patties.
2
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 4 minutes on each side, or until browned. Remove and set aside.
3
In the same skillet, add the diced onion and sliced mushrooms. Cook for 5 minutes until softened.
4
Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir for 1 minute until coated.
5
Slowly pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly. Bring to a simmer.
6
Return the beef patties to the skillet with the mushroom sauce. Cook for another 5 minutes.
7
While the patties cook, boil the green beans in salted water for 4 minutes until tender. Drain.
8
Stir the heavy cream into the mushroom sauce and heat through.
9
Serve the beef patties with the creamy mushroom sauce and green beans on the side. Garnish with chopped parsley.
