This is a yummy beef burger with a homemade smoky BBQ sauce. It has grilled mushrooms, onions, and peppers on top. You make it with beef and put it on a toasted bun. It's a tasty main dish for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

1 kg lean ground beef
4 large portobello mushroom caps
2 yellow bell peppers
1 large white onion
6 oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes
4 sesame seed buns
60 ml apple cider vinegar
1/4 tsp smoked paprika
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
2 tbsp tomato paste
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp sea salt
2 tbsp olive oil

Method

1
In a small saucepan, combine apple cider vinegar, tomato paste, honey, soy sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper to make the BBQ sauce.
2
Heat the sauce over medium-high until it boils. Then, turn the heat to low and let it cook for about 10 minutes until it gets thick. Take it off the heat when it's done.
3
Cut the yellow bell peppers into strips and slice the mushrooms. Peel and cut the onion into strips too. Put all the veggies in a bowl.
4
Drizzle the veggies with olive oil and toss them so they're all covered. Heat up a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
5
Cook the veggies in the pan for about 10 minutes until they're soft. Move them to a plate and cover them to keep warm.
6
Chop the sun-dried tomatoes into small pieces. Mix them into the ground beef with your hands. Make 4 patties from the beef.
7
Cook the patties in the same pan for 5 minutes on one side. Flip them over and cook for another 3 minutes.
8
If you want, toast the sesame seed buns. Put a beef patty on each bun bottom, add some BBQ sauce, and top with the grilled veggies. Put the bun tops on.
9
Serve the burgers with any extra veggies on the side. Enjoy your meal!
